Compostable Capsules

The NEXE pod is primarily made using plant based materials that break down completely in industrial composting facilities. The pod is made from a combination of plant fiber, compostable polymers, and other compostable materials. The lid is made from layers of paper and polymers. The inner capsule is made from a corn based biopolymer and other compostable materials. The outer capsule is made from bamboo fiber. No need to separate anything - the entire pod is compostable! 

The Nexe pod can be disposed of in the green bin, where municipalities accept compostable packaging. The entire pod is compostable - no need to separate the lid, cup, or coffee.

Nexe pods should not be disposed of in your backyard compost - they should be handled by your municipal composting facility to ensure they break down completely.

Nexe pod materials have been validated as fully compostable by researchers at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada as well as the Municipal Composting Facility in Surrey, BC. They meet international standards for compostability.
